Grid On/Off

Grid On/Off

(Pulldown Menu)
This command draws a snapping grid in the graphics area of the screen. A snapping grid can be useful if you are doing concept work rather than need to use exact dimensions. Now when you locate a point on screen, the system will actually use the closest grid point.

After you select Grid, you are prompted to enter a grid spacing. This is a real world spacing such as 500 for 500mm. After you click [OK], a grid is drawn as a network of white dots. If the Zoom Scale was 1 : 1, then the screen is automatically zoomed to 1 : 500.

If a grid was already on when you selected Grid, the grid is turned off. You will notice the state of the grid in the status line at the top of the screen. The grid status will be either On or Off, and the Snapping status will be either On or Off.
